Visiting and research information
The newspaper stock at the Archive of the History of Journalism is extensive but not complete. Hence it is advisable to take a look at our inventory before making a visit. The Archive exclusively collects historical sources. Academic literature (e.g. on the history of journalism) can be found in the Institute's library. Microfilm scanners to look through or scan the sources are available to visitors at the archive. Scans can be taken home as files on the visitors' own USB-ports. We would recommend bringing a smartphone or digital camera for a quick and simply digitisation of our newspapers in large print format.

- Monday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
- Wednesday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
On June 26th the Archive will remain closed due to the heat wave.
The Archive for the History of Journalism is open three days a week to university members and external visitors. Since workspace in our archive is limited, we recommend that you make an appointment in advance via email or phone (during our opening hours), especially if you are traveling from further away or planning extensive research. When booking a research slot, please let us know which newspapers you would like to consult.
